Nutrition: the cucumber is one of the richest vegetables in water, so it provides very few calories (12 kcal per 100 grams of food).

Provides small amounts of provitamin A (beta carotene), lutein (carotene without vitamin A activity), and even smaller proportions of other B vitamins such as folate, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin. It contains, however, significant amounts of vitamin C (100 grams of cucumber cover more than 15 percent of the recommended daily intake of the vitamin). Cucumber also contains minerals in small quantity, the most abundant potassium.
